Back in Yokuska last night. Woke up to blue blue skies! YAY We are headed to Okusa today for 2 nights. I think we ride the bullet train. Will know more when our Sailor gets done taking the 2nd class test today. That must be the one Clair is taking too. Congrats Sandra. OK...have to repack and drink more coffee. Dang this is one tiring trip but would not have missed it :)

Good morning all. Kathy16...thanks for the well wishes on the weather but no go. We are in Tokyo for a few days and it snowed last evening. It is rainy and cold cold cold. Wrong time of year for sure. Stayed at the New Sannlo Hotel in Tokyo. It is a military hotel and very very nice. Upscale from the Navy Lodge. Even lost $20 in the slots! lol We are still enjoying our time with Michael and his friend Brook despite the weather. Headed back to Yokosuka today after we stop off somewhere for a tatoo for my husband.

8:00 a.m Monday. Cold and windy but sun peeking out! YAY Headed for Tokyo for couple nights. Back late Wednesday. Yes we are enjoying time with our sailor. Over a year since we saw him so any time with him is great. Will post more when we get back.

It is miserable here in Japan. Rainy, windy and oh so cold. Yesterday was the same. We tried to go to Yokohama. Got there. Saw the large mall. Walked around in the rain and headed back to the mall. LOL We cut it short and came back to Yokosuka mid afternoon. Headed to Toyko in the morning for 2 nights. I so hope it is better weather. Weather forecast calls for rain the next 3 days. We talked about cutting the trip short as there is no sense staying here. It is not like Hawaii or Florida rain. This is down right miserable. Sorry if I sound down but I am...it is not fun the last 2 days.

Millye ... glad you got to talk to Claire.

Well we made it! Our sailor was waiting at the airport for us. Thanks goodness. Would surely have gotten lost getting to the base. Jet lag for sure. Yesterday we toured the base and Yokosuka. Lots and lots of walking. Navy Lodge is on the bay and is very very adequate. Older but clean and lots of room with kitchenette. More later.

Kathy16...I know booking way way in advance like we did makes a big difference. Good luck. Talked with our sailor last night and organized the meet point. Can't believe we finally will get to see him. It has been over a year.

Ahhh great picture. Yes you have to be a member of AAA. They go thru several other travel companies to find the best rates. But again, this was at least 5 months ago using Japan Airlines. I looked into upgrading yesterday from Economy to Premium Economy (only diff I could see was the foot rest). The man was surprised at what I paid and to upgrade would be close to $700 apiece. I said I would tuff it out for the 12 hr trip. We are flying out of San Francisco, California.
