OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

To the new moms Welcome Aboard Shipmates. There are good times and dark times but we are here for each other to laugh with you and to cry with you. We stand strong for each other but mostly for our sailors who we wait for to return home everyday.

To add to Kat's message - you really should just send that type of information in a PM. I deleted the posts that contained portions of email addresses. Think of your sailor's safety - err on the side of caution!

Beth...thanks for the links. Our sailor was not one.

Ginny...we heard from him last night. I did not talk to him but his Dad did. As far as I know, no mention but I'll ask further tonight at dinner.
