On the address change the GW Family Readiness Group's newsletter for July-Aug has the address change as FPO AP 96650-2801. I have sent Aaron's boxes to the new address and he gets them in about 14 to 20 days. Last time we talked last week he said they had just gotten that day 35 Tons of mail!! I am glad I dont work in that Post Office. LOL Now with the holidays coming we need to give the boxes more time to get to Japan. The woman that do the newsletter really do a great job at keeping us informed on what the news is with the GW.

Hi Dee my son Timothy is an ABH rate, he has been in the navy for 2.5 years, and has been aboard the GW his entire career ( they were still in the shipyards in Portsmouth when he first reported), excluding A school. Sailor #2 is in the delayed entry program in the engineman rate, he will leave for basic training in June'09 when he graduates high school. Thanks for asking.

Aaron called last night from Busan S Korea. Aaron said they had a day trip up to the DMZ. He has many men in the family who fought in Korea. They had to wear their dress blues. He said they all enjoyed them selves. He said it is very very cold there. He also said the sailors from around the world are fun to visit with. But he did say not the Russins, they had given the group the internainal launage- well you know. All is good on the GW he had not heard about the accident on the Ike he has some friends on the Ike and he was very sad. He said they all enjoyed the VP debate last week. They will be in Guam on the 31st. I sure do miss him!!!

Hello Everyone, I don't have a sailor on the GW (my sailor is in Goose Creek) but his best friend left Aug. 31 for Japan and the USS GW. I thought it would be interesting to follow your comments and pass on information to my son. Hope this is okay. Pat

I don't remember who posted the information on the recent pictures from the GW on the Navy's seventh fleet. But thank you very much for the information. 3 or 4 of the pictures had Aaron in them and he posted to them on my space. I have moved them over to here. Thanks again

Leah,
I worry about all the protesting going outside of the base there also. It looks like they are getting more organized with their protesting. Its sad because the sailors are only serving their country and doing a job. We need to continure to pray for all their safety. That is the very best that we can do for them.

Aaron called Friday Sept 12 about 1230 am our time. He said it was the first night without night flight ops since they left San Diego. He said the GW was running good NO Fires!! He sounded very tired but we talked about 15 mins. They were off Hawaii somewhere. He said they were close enough to see but did not pull in. He said they should be docking in Japan on Thursday but Wednesday to us and he would call when he gets off the boat. I sure do miss him!

Has the address for the GW changed from APO to FPO?? If so do you have the zip that goes with. Also when you send cookies how do you pack them so they are not crumbs when they get there?? Thanks so much
