My sailor wants news from home but gives minimal answers about his life - but that is normal for him. His questions are about the garden as he planted many things on leave - including ghost peppers so I send pics of plants.

I had a short message from our sailor early Wednesday morning. He sends a message about 2 or 3 times a week just telling me things that are in his mind and asking about his truck, lol.

We heard from our Sailor yesterday. He said there are rumors about mail being held while they are in South America? Hope this is just a not true. Anyone else hear anything?

We use Viber...I now have a Iphone and my sailor has a Andriod phone and it works for us...he'll skype when in port, usually from a hotel or cafe..... many use FB messenger, facetime plus there's a few other calling apps...

Comment by Brooke on September 25, 2015 at 2:55pm
Beachbunny yes he has his cell phone, do you suggest any specific apps?
Comment by BeachBunny on September 25, 2015 at 11:25am

Brooke...who knows where that phone call came from...my sailor rarely calls from the carrier, he's on his 3rd deployment and the call shows as US GOV, first time he called I thought it was the IRS and didn't answer...:)...you can't just wait around for his phone calls, when they hit port calls come in...does he have his cell phone? Did he and you download one of the free international calling apps??

joshmom, of course we sent football scores...lol...I do miss going to the games all fall...

Anyone else hear from their sailors? anything to share??

Happy Friday Ladies!

Brooke - nope never had that happen but there has been a couple times my sailor with no explanation would quickly end our conversation with "gotta go mom, love ya, bye" and hang up. Hope your hubby calls you real soon.  I know that was a huge disappointment getting an "unknown" call and no one there!

Finally got an email from my son...a very short  "Thanks for the football updates, I'm fine, love ya"  Seriously...that's all he could say?  argh!  But I'll take what I can get.  Just mailed a Halloween package to him so fingers crossed he gets it before end of October LOL

Sending positive vibes your way djk's mom hoping you hear from him soon

Love the pictures BeachBunny

Have a beautiful weekend everyone!

Has anyone experienced problems when their sailor called while deployed? I just had a call from an unknown number which is usually what shows up when husband calls but when I answered al I heard was some noise, not him speaking, and then it just hung up. Is this a common problem?

(HUGS) djk's Mom....

I email mine every week...even if he doesn't reply...send him football scores too.....I didn't heard from mine until this weekend since the first week when I got his address...got a short email reply yesterday...How's my truck?...oh boys and their toys....

Did you see the FB pictures....they had a storm last night:
