que'smom---lucky duck....:)

NavyMomandNavyCheifsWife...that was me too, my sailor is on a squadron, that is joining the USS GW for this cruise. I did try that format but no response yet....thanks!

I just joined this group a couple of weeks ago, my sailor just got back from a 10 month deployment in the gulf working on Operation Resolve bombing ISIS. My sailor was home for a week before hopping onto the USS GW,. As he really needed to decompress after that deployment....Some of you  know me from other groups and know I can be silly. I think life is stressful enough, so humor goes a long ways...that being said...this is the screen saver, I change to on my personal laptop, work computer, post on the refrigerator and a copy put in my husband truck (just to remind him)...hope it doesn't offend anyone, I think it's funny:

I got a call from my Sailor @ 6am today!!! He is an IC and needed to test a phone line he was working on and he called my cell#, he apologized for waking me up but He can use me for a test call anytime day or night. It was so good to hear his voice, he said everything was going well. I can't wait to go to Virginia.

Yes more tape the better , My Son has been in Japan since 4/13 ! It has been a long haul and lots of care packages! :( I am missing him a lot! He did tell me it would be a while before he could email that they would be black for a couple of weeks

Comment by BeachBunny on September 11, 2015 at 11:40am

My turn too, little emotional about not getting the "See ya Mom, we're off call".....he has always called...well, going to give him some slack, he was in sick bay, got some kind of flu and needed hydration thru an IV and got another peanut butter shot, ouch!...maybe he slept thru pulling out of port, as he has been on a moving carrier more then land and could of slept thru the whole thing...lol...

I stalk FB, wait on the green light and we use FB messenger on the phone too....he'll email at least once week, but didn't have his underway or email address for the GW yet (he was on the CV) but am sure he'll get it to me asap as he'll want a care package....thinking the first one will be a Halloween theme...perfect I have ghost duct tape...reminder use lots of tape! The packages go to the central processing central in Chicago then out to the fleet, they get beat up! I tape each side and even the inside corners. For 3 deployments on the water, everything has made it to him in one piece....
