Pat, i completely understand! Cory called me a few days ago because he has a phone from Thailand he can call out on. I guess guys were lining up behind him wanting to use it too. So sounds like they want to call/write home....they just havent had the option. Hopefully they'll hit land soon. But i have no idea. Use the Germantown group for all your worries and "yea!!! He called's" lol

CorysNavyMom.....Thank you so much for the info! I was getting worried because I hadn't heard from my son in a month! It's been really tough not hearing from my boy! This has been the longest that I have not had any contact with him.

Cakemom....they are not on land...last we knew. And are out, with several stops being made to different locations before returning to Sasebo in what we are hearing could be April or May. Right now computers on ship arnt working. So we all have sketchy communication from our kids/grandkids. Hopefully when they go on shore somewhere we will all get updates and have our minds put at ease.

Hawkeye Mom.....I have been so slack and I feel so bad but this is the first time I have been on here in a very long time. YES it was me. I was in Japan from July 2nd till the 12th. I met several of the Sailors on the ship. It was a wonderful trip, just a very long way to travel. Joshua didn't come home for the holiday's either so I am SO glad I went! It has been a total roller coaster since I got back from Japan with work and I found out in August my husband has a Heart condition that will require surgery this year. It has been STRESSFUL....but we will make it through this.

Hi everyone. It has been a while since I have been on here. Welcome Beth and tonen1chols. My son has been on the Germantown since May 2011. He is a Ship Serviceman or SHSN. Has anyone heard from their sailors since they left out on this underway? We "girls" also have a group on Facebook, a private group so us Mom's can vent and chat :) I am Michelle Lucas Adams on FB if you would like to send a friend request, I can add you to the USS Germantown Mom's group. The G'town got underway recently and I have not heard from my Son since they headed out and I am getting a little ill with the boy. Ha ha~ :)  I'm sure you understand.
