Dusty worked on Christmas day as well.  He traded shifts for someone because the other guy's fiance was coming in for the holiday.  I was kind of glad that Dusty would have something to do to take his mind off of the holiday and not get homesick.  We were able to 1/2 way skype (we could see and talk to him, but he could only hear us)  I make him scan the room that he's in when we're on skype to I can get an idea of what things are like there.  He was at the "USO" It was nice oriental rug, huge screen TV curtains on the windows and a nice comfy couch.  Where I guess he takes naps.  Its not all work and no play over there.  Happy New Year everyone.

talked to nick on skype for ages, it was so nice as my boys and hubby were home too. he had duty the day of the xmas party so that is why no pics of him. he also has duty on xmas day too. his laptop and phone are broken so he was kinda bummed about that. He did say he has had letters and packages from navy for moms, he said thas was kinda cool. He did break down his day for us, he said he reports to his job DC then after that goes to eat dinner, then off to the liberty station where he can get on facebook or watch a movie, then he has watch then bed, that's about it everyday..he did say he found a kabob place that he likes.

thanks to all of you for supporting my son and encouraging words to both he and I.

I am Feeling like it's going to be a Blue Christmas....without my sailor too. I finally got a message from Joshua saying Hi Mom, what's up? on FB, but then not much else. ;( It has been 3 weeks since I talked to him, but thinking that talking to us sometimes makes it harder for them to be away from home and family for Christmas. I don't know, I just know it's not easy for me. I am very lucky though, as long as everything goes as planned, Joshua will be coming home for a very short visit December 30th till Jan. 11th. so I do have something to look forward too, I just can't delay Christmas like I want, I still have an 11 year old daughter at home too. I sent packages to Japan, and I still don't know if he got them or not....nor have I gotten anything from him...nothing since he left May 1st actually. oh well.....I guess this is a part of them growing up and for us attempting to let go. I hope each and everyone does have a Wonderful Holiday season, and a very Merry Christmas...as for me the countdown is on to December 30th at 6:09 when he walks off the plane and I get to hug my son. =)

Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah, Happy Holidays....to all! No packages from Cory. But really wasn't expecting anything lol. He texted me two days ago saying he doesn't think he's going to come home in April. That if he waits until June he'll have a longer leave. Its a long wait. If I didn't have the younger boys here at home (4 of them) I'm sure I wouldnt care if Christmas came or went. Have to keep chugging through the holidays happily for them. But do miss my sailor so much. As I'm sure you all do as well.

I didn't know there were any pics from the xmas party with our boys in it, I am going to have to look closer. I didn't even know that they were at that party. hope you are all doing well. I have had a few breakdown days and sometimes it doesn't feel like it is really going to be xmas. I sure miss my boy, he sent us some packages but there are strict instructions to not open til xmas.

dustysmom- brag away! I love to hear about sons taking care of their mums.

corys- I am not holding my breath for my son to write any thank you cards, he hasn't mentioned getting any other packages or mail but mine. I will keep asking him.

I wish you all a wonderful christmas and hope we all have peace in our hearts on xmas morning.

sounds like their Christmas party outfits were very similar. I'll find the pic. I just received my presents from Japan.   He is growing up.  Taking care of mom at Christmas time.  He's always been really thoughtful.  I got some earrings, a vase and a gold tipped rose.  They are beautiful.  Part of me is missing the handmade gifts from elementary school though.  Those are just as wonderful.  I hope this does't come off as bragging, I'm just sharing.  I love this chat room.  Merry Christmas everyone.

Cory had his pic in the photos from the Christmas party as well. He won $50. He's like photo number 52 with black shirt with white cuffs and collar. Striped black and white tie.

Cory got his school package also. And I mentioned to him to write a note to me and is forward it to the class. I know he won't paper write. Lol. Ugh.

Happy Holidays everyone. May we all get through without our sailors home.

Also, Dusty recieved a package or two from the class.  He was glad to recieve it.  The thought was so nice and I greatly appreciate others thinking about those young sailors that away for the holidays.  Thanks so much.  I'm after him to send thank you notes.  I've only received 1 postcard since he's been over seas.  But I'll keep bugging him.
