nanathena:  You were in the AirForce?  Awesome.  Where is your son on the GTown and how long has he been on?  As you see, none of us have heard too much from our kids since leaving SD.  It's very frustrating, but I trust they are doing their job and will call when they're able.  Chin up!

Carol.  Thanks for letting us know.  I did get a short distressed email that ATM machine ate her bank card so she couldn't call home...

I've taken care of business for her today and the absolute fastest way to get mail to her is strictly the Post Office, Priority or regular 1st class, with no guarantee of time delivery.  Both probably the same to an APO address they said.  UPS or FEDEX  will not do APO addresses and there's no OTHER land address that I know of to overnight to.  There's no moneygram in their city listed either.  She'll be okay, but will have to wait 1 to 2 weeks for mail to get to her.  So, she saves a little money!!  She'll survive.

Please give us full details if and when you get a phone call as I may not hear from mine for a little while.

Brenda, Sherry... you too!   XOXOXO

Evidently time is limited on computers on the ships. She says when you get to one, the others are already saying hurry up!  ""We saw a cargo ship today, the ones that carry the things for trains. First contact in like 2 weeks! LOL We're picking up marines in like less than a week, not even sure, its going to be SOO packed! We'll have vehicles on the flight deck and everywhere! This is going to be soo much fun. Anyways, I'll write more when I can. I love you""   I get email snippets and am extremely thankful for each and every one.  She says the weather is like Florida now.  I've not gotten any special requests, just a reminder that her birthday is coming up.  She'll be 19.  By the way, if you guys are on facebook, find the USS Germantown Ombudsman, explain to her who you are and your relation to sailor, and ask for friend request.  Then you'll get a few more updates on what's happening.  If you've not done this yet, trust me, you'll want to.  It is our PRIVATE Area, not to be shared.  (There's pictures!!)  Anyway, Just wanted to share a snippet!  Hope all is well with everyone.
