Hi everyone~As we adjust to a less-convenient connection to our sailors, I wanted to make sure that each of you has the e-mail contact for our Family Readiness Group. The group is open to spouses,…Continue

seems like there hasn't been any activity on this page for some time. Are there any active members?

Melisa,
My best advice is to communicate directly with your sailor. Family members are able to reference dates known only to the two parties so that OPSEC (Operations Security) can be maintained.
Even the Ombudsman is not supposed to send you an e-mail or talk to you via phone about specific dates.
However, you only asked for approximate timing, which is a fair question.
Once again, I encourage those who may wish to have some additional contact with others in our, um, boat to consider friending the Gridley Readiness-Group on Facebook. They have several upcoming events that will help make the next month-and-a-part-month (answering your question) go by a bit faster.

Does anyone know an approximate date our sailors are coming home???
Thanks Joy!!! I will try to find it! Lois
Hi, Lois...don't worry the ship will make sure that your son has a place to report to and, when feasible, will make sure he gets to the ship. :-)
We don't discuss ship's movements and crew whereabouts in detail in any electronic communication; therefore, e-mail or phone is no better (security-wise) than posting here.
The fact that the ship is deployed is unclassified.
As I've typed below, to begin receiving updates, there are various e-mail lists (Ombudsman, FRG, Homecoming coordinator) as well as Facebook pages for USS GRIDLEY and Gridley readiness-group.
Welcome to the awesome GRIDLEY family!
Oh, AC, that was sure sweet of you...made this gray-haired lady's day :)
I'm just glad that there's some silver lining that can be shared by having been to a few homecomings...
T-minus about 9 weeks and counting!
