OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

Leslie is the COs wife and you'll see her at pretty much all the events. Darcie Is the ombudsman and there is an FRG. There haven't been any emails going put from either so it's not just you. I think there is an FRG thing next month, or at least that's what was said at the last event (no emails on that one, just word of mouth). The new FRG has the old email account info cause I made sure to turn it over. Not really sure why there is a lack of email communication thus far.

The ombudsmans name is Darcie but for something like this you might want to go through the Red Cross. It's a pain in the butt because they verify everything in detail before sending the message over, but it's worth it because the command can't ignore a message from them. Also consider going to the command chaplain. He will be a great resource for you and your sailor in a time of need. I'll message you his info in the morning.

09Usnamom14- I'm sorry to hear about your dad. My thoughts and prayers will be with you. I was told to contact the red cross but call our ombudsman too. She is wonderful and will help you as much as possible! If you need her contact info let me know and I can get it for you.
Got emails from my Hubby. He said that soon we should be hearing something but wouldn't be specific. Got to love talking in codes! Haha rolling my eyes. Hope everyone is staying busy to make the time go by faster! Off to work now! Have a good day ladies!
