Don't be confused. ONce the Navy or the Military releases information on the ship...or photos....etc., it's public information that anyone can see, read or find. The deal is to not talk about where they are going next....etc.,
Once they are in port, or intrasit through the Canal or across the sea....and the announcements have been made, it's OK to discuss.
Allyj31 - I'll mail a card to your son too! But just to be safe you should remove your post here with his name and address (OPSEC) - click on the x in the upper right hand corner of your post to remove it. If anyone wants the info you can PM it to them - make sure you know who you are sending it to for safety reasons. Better safe than sorry ;-)
Hi ladies,
I also had a call from my son. He is taking a walking tour today. He did get to use his phone to send a message too. He sounds fantastic and says all is well.
Have a good week!
Allyj31... I mailed a card to Corey this morning :)
This could be a fun support for each other's kids/spouses, etc. on the ship. Happy to send more if someone wants me to.
I had the longest talk ever with my son on Saturday (:30) and he sounded good. Then got a FB message from the wifi in a McDonalds at the Croatia Mall :) I'll take it. He said he (and 4 others) had walked Roman Ruins before hand. I reminded him "join the Navy, see the world." :) and to take advantage of everywhere he is. Had a GREAT Saturday with grandson and daughter-in-law who is still in town. Yeah! They took a picture with Santa and a sign (come home soon daddy)... Made me cry. Best to all today...
Thanks! And the article in total Croatia news was fabulous. I am so proud!
My son would love to get a card from anyone! His name is MM3 Corey Gardner, box 4667
