Hi all, I mostly read her to keep up, but I thought I would comment today. Thanks for all of your wonderful comments & support about our Sailors, I feel I know some of you even though you don't know me.
I heard from my Sailor yesterday for a brief phone call, I was so happy. I want to say thank you for the reminder to wear RED on Fridays, it is my favorite color so I wear it a lot & I would forget on Fridays if I didn't keep up.
BoomMom I am so happy for your son & I keep him in my prayers. Amen to you B'sNukeMom on prayers to everyone dealing with the Hurricane. I know our Sailors will be O.K.
I also have a son in the Army who will go on deployment in 2017, not looking forward to that since this time he will have a son.
Again I am grateful to all of you. You are a big support for me in dealing with my daughter far away from home, me being in Ca. I wasn't able to be at the last homecoming, but I am saving my pence for the next homecoming. I will definitely be there.
Hi all - Happy RED shirt Friday!
BoomMom - Love that sweet picture of your sailor & your grandbaby <3
There's been lots of chatter on FB regarding the hurricane & the Truman. From what I've read our sailors should be safe. The Navy's been at this for a long time and they know what they are doing! And it sounds like from the news this morning the hurricane is turning and won't make land. Continued prayers for everyone dealing with Hurricane Joaquin.
navymomof2... Sure wish I knew what that meant (delaying original plans to let the weather calm down), but definitely appreciate your caution in what you say on this site. The plan was to take the ship out AWAY from the path of the hurricane... not to be in it, so even if they went out, they should be safe.
I heard from my sailor. I don't want to violate any rules of this site, but I do want to encourage any mom who is worried about her sailor, thinking the ship may be exactly in the way of the hurricane. My sailor told me they are delaying original plans to let the weather calm down, and they are doing ok.
When our sailors are out on the ship, will we be able to get email back and forth to them? My sailor hasn't gotten to the ship yet.
Hello all. I hope those who are in the path of the storms are safe. My son finally got back on his ship today (during the bump and go) after 2 weeks home. Challenging to see him say goodbye, but thank goodness it's for a short time (this time). I'm sorry for those who had sick sailors. No fun at all.
oh no Joan - sorry it's seasickness! That's one of the absolute worst feelings. And the seas are only getting rougher :(
Saw the post by the Captain on the FB page. They were pulling in for a few hours to restock supplies & heading right back out. Trying to get ahead of the hurricane. My CA boy hasn't ever been around anything like this lol! Praying everyone stays safe.
Joan - glad you got an email, but oh no! Sick from the seas I wonder or something else? Either way that sucks for her. Hope she's feeling better soon ;-)
