Good morning, pleasure to meet yall! I'm from Jacksonville FL and my boyfriend is an Operations Specialist. We are both pretty nervous about his first deployment, not sure what to expect! Plus he'll be ”the new guy” coming in late.
Lynn- what is cranking? Never heard of it.

Hi Priscilla, my youngest son deployed with the IWO JIMA on his birthday in March.  He is an Operations Specialist and currently in his last two weeks of cranking!  My oldest is stationed on the BONHOMME RICHARD in Japan.  Nice to meet you.

Hello Everyone!! Hope everyone is having a great day! My name is Priscilla, just joined this site as member after months of reading through everything! My boyfriend just finished A school and will be joining the USS IWO JIMA any day now, so I'd just like to get to know everyone and get a few questions answered! This is his first deployment and I'm filled with questions!

Welcome new members :)  Hope you'll take a minute to say Hi and tell us about yourself and your sailor!

Thank you Susan. This is my son's first deployment as well, but he has only been in since July.  He seems to be doing well and making friends, but also is looking forward to getting back, lol.  He is currently cranking, but I think he will be done in a few weeks.  I'm hoping and praying that they both get to come home around the same time. Very strange becoming an empty nester to two Sailors both overseas.  It's been groups like this that make it all easier :)

I have two Sailors and my youngest is on the Iwo Jima.  He told me that he has a few friends whose mothers are on here.  Since I only get one email about every 4-5 days it will be awhile before he will answer my question as to who, lol, but I thought I'd come and say hi!  His brother is on the Bonhomme Richard in Japan and I have met a few mothers of friends of his on N4M and their FB page.  Nice to meet you.  Lynn
