I am new to this. My son should be on the ship by now. I have not heard from in at all and was wondering how do I get his address? How do we communicate? We are first timers with all of this any information would be greatly appreciated. Would like to send care package and get some pictures of him.
Hi all, This has been an exciting deployment for me. With my son on the VBSS team I got to see him on Navy.mil allot plus he sent me pictures several times a week for the past 2 months. He went up in rank to a BM2 and just passed his boards and got his ESWS Pin last week. I am so proud of him he has really studied and worked hard for this not to mention all of the Officers and supervisors that helped teach and train him. I am so grateful he is on such a wonderful ship. My son is so happy that he signed on for 8 more years too. I got these photos of his friends goofing around with him after the pinning ceramony they made me crack up so I wanted to share. The best medicine for missing your Sailor is seeing a smile like this. Hugs
Just can't count ........ too hopeful. LOL Atleast we're on the short end.
Ok, thanks!
Does anyone know if there is a recommended date to stop sending packages to the ship?
60 days and counting is what my son told us. Hope all of you are doing well.
Hurray! We have passed mid-January and the end is getting closer.
Hi Family,
USS Jason Dunham VBSS Team is in the Navy.mil picture of the week voting, let's all vote so they win!!!!!
Okay my son is in it but I always get excited when I see pics of the ship and I am more excited because we are on the countdown of them coming home. My son sent me some amazing pictures yesterday. I am so proud to be a Navy mom and I miss him so much. I feel so lucky that he was assigned this ship out of A school. He has had his ups and downs but he is happy on this ship and has made so many fiends he calls family, I call that lucky.
I keep pictures of any thing I see on the internet even if my son is not in it and making a CD for his "box" of stuff from boot camp until now.
Hugs Paula
