Merry Christmas to you all!!!
I know I should be grateful for technology but ..... the connection wasn't great. Though I loved the minutes we did have of his face and voice!!! So I will focus on that and be a Happy Mom.
Any t-shirts,or hoodies left ? Our son is joining the ship soon. Would love to get shirts or hoodies. I am already missing him. I hope that we will be able to talk to him at Christmas.First 1 away from home. :(
LOL Very cute! I received a photo of 2 guys under a helicopter; landing I guess. My son is one of them. I know the last port was not very exciting for him but the pictures he took were lovely. Merry Christmas to you all!!!
Chevrons are the bars or stripes I do believe...:-)
Sorry, hav no idea was 'chevron' means. Had a great Thanksgiving dinner while chatting with our sailor on fb. My siblings understood. His wife and the 2 of us are already planning/looking at what to do about return. It'll get us all through the rest of the holidays.
On another note, trying to find something to send out for Christmas. Help, need some new ideas. Besides I don't think a classic car would make it through the mail. HaHaHa!
Thanks for the info. I ended up hearing from my son yesterday because he made ranked up to second class. He said some thing I did not understand can someone tell me what this means..."get to throw another chevron on my collar" I know he got crows feet when he made third class whats a chevron???
He said he has not gotten his box and I mailed it and the auction boxes and I mailed them Oct 26th. I am sure it will come soon maybe I missed the pick up by 1 day or some thing. Thanks CharleneM
I heard from my son on Sunday. He said he received a box earlier that day. Seems like it's taking 2-3 weeks for packages to arrive.
Hello everyone!!! Does anyone know if the ship is getting mail in a timely fashion? I think they have not been to port in a while so I was not sure if they get mail with replenishments or what this is my first deployment. My son has been so busy all he ever write is love ya, real busy but hi, or the best pictures then there will be some pics in the e-mail. So I keep saying did you get your last box? He never answers and I am about to send out his Christmas box with some good stuff in it so I don't want it sitting forever or getting lost but then I want him to have a Christmas present so I will take my chances...
When I was at the post office they told me they just got deadlines updated in the computer for military they were nice enough to look our ship up and said the very last day to ship is December 3rd so I wanted to pass that around I am sure that is for the northern states not for Norfolk because you are 3 days ahead with the post office right there.
Hope this helps with Christmas boxes. When is the auction??? That was fun I made 2 Movie theme boxes I did the "Chick Flicks" and my husband did the Man Movies we went to Big Lots I am always surprised at that place they had old movies but also movies released in the last 2 years for $5.
Have a great Thanksgiving!!!!! Paula
