I got an email from my husband this morning and he says that they get to have alcohol from not porting in soooo long! I have a few more days until I get to see him through VTC. I can't wait to see him and I know he is excited to see out 2 year old daughter. :D ps, we celebrated our half way a few days ago..I can't believe homecoming is as close as it is...for our first deployment, its going by fairly well for me. :)

The boys were, evidently, involved in a small incident Jan 4 -- google the ship for the article.

I also want to let everyone know that I'm secretary of the FRG, so if I am given permission I can keep you updated on what they have been up to(of course after they have done it) because of OPSEC. If you go on to the Navy.mil site there will be some recent pictures of the ship!

Hello, how is everyone doing? I hear from my sailor at least once a day. They are doing fine and half way is almost here! I am so anxious for my husband to come home!

I heard from mine on the 30th but not since then.  He said he's really busy but I'm hoping to hear again soon.  He did say that they had a movie and cookout on the deck on Christmas and then a turkey dinner in the mess hall.  Happy New Year to you, as well!

Finally, my son received his packages!! Took 6 weeks but at least he got them

Comment by sandyh on December 10, 2010 at 7:10am

Glad to hear that some of your packages are getting through! My son still hasn't rec'd either package that was sent him (it's been over 30 days!),  I've told him that i'm not even going to try to send anything for Christmas -- think we'll have Christmas when he returns!

Does the ombudsman generally reply quickly?  I sent her a few questions a couple of days ago and haven't heard back, yet.

Norma - how do I contact the ombudsman to sign up for the party? who is it? how do you find this info? the 1/2 way beach party sounds great!! I'm planning on heading to SD for their return in May but I need a back up plan in case I can't make it for some unforseen reason!

I mailed a package on 10/27 and it hasn't arrived yet, either. Guess I should get right on mailing Christmas!!!
