Does anyone have a son that is a rider on the Alaska to get their qualifications?

Comment by donnab on March 27, 2013 at 9:07pm

Mine is going to be a rider on another sub to get his qualifications, I was hoping he would be on land for a while. This is all new to me, and is going to be hard to get use too. I heard that emails are not as frequent on a Boomer is that right?

I'm sure you already got the answer and I messaged you but he will stay on base or go on a boat before they go up there and than get a place in Portsmouth VA!

And when it says that, does that mean he should plan to find a place to live in .....? Virginia Beach or Kingsbay?

My husband and I are going to Jacksonville and planned on having dinner with my son he is at Kingsbay, but he called yesterday and is sick running fever and he has been told to stay in bed for the next few days. I wanted to know if I could drop off a package to him at the base gate. any info would be greatly appriciated.

My son finished his quals & got his dolphins on Jan. 1 !!! He has only been on the boat a year now & it only took him 2 patrols to get them.  I am so proud of him!!!
