The Navy offers opportunities that...
You have to be supportive & understanding. Trust you sailor at all times & always say I love you before they get underway, it is as hard on them as it is on the family they leave.
Our Navy experience so far...
It was positive and maturing. Our relationship has grown stronger.

Yes we are in Pearland (near Houston) Texas.  My son's name is Derek Chautin. It would be great if he could make friends with SR's of mom's that I am making friends with on here!

Cameron is in Div941. He is a snare drummer so I am hoping that you should be able to capture him. I know where Annaccoco is been through it a couple of times. Hope to see you if you come into lake Charles. I work in L&D at Womens and Childrens.

We got a letter on Wed., he said he had some really tough days getting about 3 hours of rest at night, so that makes me think that he had been or was going through "Hell Week" then. My letter was also written on Sunday. It was short, he didn't have too much to say, other than he was really tired and not to worry about him that he was going to be okay. I just pray that they are ALL doing okay. I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a phone call yesterday. Did you get a call?

You are welcome. I think his background will help him cope with this. Maybe after PIR he can talk to you more about it. If whomever he was talking to in the psy. area felt he needed to see him more, I think that would be happening. He will be so busy now that hopefully won't think of it often. Such a tragedy...suicide is not easy to deal with, but we are all forced to. It sure helps to talk about it...

Pammie: Oh my gosh! At bc? That is awful! Yes, I do believe they all will get the help they need, but if you are concerned, you may need to try and contact a chaplain up there. How did your son sound? Did he give deails or his feelings about it all? You can also contact the Red Cross and tell them the situation to see what they suggest and she if they can contact someone there for you...do you feel you need to speak directly to him right now? I'm sure that the Navy has learned to work with this tragic event....I would imagine that all involved are told that they can speak to a counselor/chaplain, etc whenever they need to. I think they take this very seriously. I'm so so sorry that your son found him....but I do think that they will help him work through it.
