Your very welcome.  No matter how old or babies get, we are still their mothers!! We just have to be 2nd or 3rd in line now behind the boat & wives of fiance's.  My youngest has also joined the Navy & she will leave for boot camp in October.  I am so proud of both my kids!!

Hi Cindy, Welcome!!!!  My son is on the Maryland (he is Emily's husband).  Emily will be able to answer your questions better than I will, she is who I get my answers from. She is the best daughter in law anyone could ever have.   One thing that I do know for sure is that we are not supposed to talk about when they are gone or when they are coming back, so be careful when you talk to people about it because our sailors can get in trouble if we break OPSEC.

You're welcome! He's with my husband!! Quals are what they have to do in order to get their dolphins (to officially be a submariner, you're trusted 100% when you have them) A submarine is kind of like a fraternity, and without your dolphins you're not "in" lol it can take 4 months to a year to get them. My husband is also working on his!

Oh okay, if he's out to sea right now, he's blue crew with my husband! They do have email, but that's all. They send them whenever they get free time. Keep checking your email, just in case!

Hi all, I am new to the Maryland, my son is a MM on the blue crew & is leaving soon for his 1st deployment. I am so nervous about it & don't know what to expect. Emily, his wife is great & will keep me well informed of everything so at least I will have communication through her. I am also nervous for her because she has never been through this before & they are expecting my 1st Grandchild (a boy) in Sept.
