HiMy son Jon just joined the crew of the McCampbell three weeks ago. Haven't heard from him but I see by some of your comments that it's hard for them to get e mail/texts/etc. And probably to send…Continue

Hi Classy, how's it going?
Yes I have heard from her a few times by email and she did tell me where they were going, not sure if I can say it here or not. This being her first time out was very hard for her, and sad for me. I think it affected her a little more than she thought that it would, needless to say it was a rough day. Tyra has a big personality too, so I have a feeling that if they know each other, they are probably keeping everyone else entertained! She emailed me the other day and I was very happy to hear that she got her bearings back though, and was remembering to look at the bright side of things, which was a HUGE relief to me. I just sent a package out, but I hear that they sometimes they just hold them in Japan until they get back, do either of you know if that is true? That would kinda suck, so I hope not. Hope all is well with you ladies
Hi Flyrasmom!!! All is well here in Cali. My son LOVES it out there. He has written me [ via Whatapp] about what its like on the ocean. he says its very beautiful. He also said that they would be coming back to base sometime around his birthday. [which is in 6 days] but he can't say for sure could be sooner or later. [to which I say Thanks alot for the sorta update on returning to regular conversations!] Hoping that when they do get back to shore, our kids can meet each other. My son is a hoot and a fun/ny kid to be around.
How are you doing? Hope to hear some good news soon. I'll keep you up -to-date! Take Care ~ Cat
Oh... my name is Cathi or Cat!
Hi Flyrasmom!
Let's get this page off the ground! Or just chit chat with each other & keep up to date on the kids!
My son loves it there.
They will be outbound for awhile & that will give your daughter time to figure out the base & comfortable with the area.
he is a Quartermaster. What is your daughters job?
Hi Classy!! I guess it's me and you for now!! If we (re)build it they will come I come I hope!! My daughter just got there on Thursday and she still on indoc I guess that's what it's called. She told me that the ship left a day or two before she got there and will be out for a while, so I guess she'll just be on base figuring out Japan. Does your son like it?
Flyrasmom, My son is on the McCampbell. I follow the Navy Mom's closely to see any information regarding that ship.I also am on Facebook with the McCampbell page. It is updated more frequently now. There is even a picture of my son on the page!
