Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

USS McFaul (DDG-74) is an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer in the United States Navy. She is named for Chief Petty Officer Donald L. McFaul, a Navy Seal who was killed in action on 20 December 1989, while serving in Panama. McFaul was awarded a posthumous Navy Cross for attempting to rescue a platoon mate at the cost of his life.

its so exciting to know the end is in sight and i can actually feel like the countdown has officaly began. i cant wait for my hubby to get home, this deployement has gone by pretty quick i think. i hope everyone is doing great!

"Mess cranking" is something that most junior sailors participate in. It is not an "official" form of punishment. When I was on the ship, my chief did have a guy that pis*** him off, and the guy got sent to mess cranking. Timeframe of being assigned to FSA duty(mess cranking) can vary. I did two tours of 3 months each when I was on active duty.

hmmm, what are e-mails? i don't see those too much. hehe. hubby stays pretty busy in deck division. oh well. we are done with the ship in November. Can't say I will miss it too much. Shore duty is sounding mighty fine right now. LMAO
