Being a mom is tough , but having a son/daughter deployed is extra tough :) I'm glad to be a member of this site as it makes you feel that you aren't alone in all of the worrying that we do. I know that they are doing the best they can emotionally and they are trained well...Hopefully we will all hear from our loved ones soon...Praying for all

My son just went aboard the USS McFaul last week from Norfolk VA. I'm dying to know how his first week went. I'm very excited for him and hope he's loving it!

The McFaul's Family Readiness Group is compiling recipes for a cookbook with our sailor's favorite recipes. If you would like to contribute any recipes or would like information on ordering a cookbook, please email ddg74frg@gmail.com. Be sure to include your name, sailor's information and your relationship. We would love to see recipes from the whole family.

Well, I think I should... but, apparently no one else does....lol

Comment by Justin's Mom on March 25, 2012 at 9:53pm

of course, his wife hears from him far more than his mom...

I hear from Justin on Facebook fairly regularly ... he says they have been busy and he is doing training of some sort... not many details, really ... He called when he was in Italy and sounded good! He is an ET and probably has a fair amount of computer access.  Yesterday, when we were chatting, they were about 7 or 7 1/2 hours ahead of us... so, I usually get to talk to him online early, before I go to work.
