Remember not to send anything too big though - they don't have alot of room to store things.

My daughter's boyfriend sent her a package with individual packs of macaroni and cheese, cigarettes, a thermos coffee mug, chocolate bar, books and other assorted things and she said she got everything fine (even the chocolate bar).  I think it took about 3 weeks if I remember correctly.  They said don't send anything parishable - but he sent a chocolate bar - I did advised him to put it in a plastic baggie in case it melted.  She said it was fine.  He is getting ready to send her another box.  They love to get boxes of goodies.

Good morning, all!  So, I am wondering what types of things people have successfully sent to their sailors in a package.  My son's birthday is mid-April, and I want to plan ahead so a package can reach him in time.  Thanks!

Does anybody know about a tiger cruise? I just heard about them and thought it sounded cool

Hey, I am happy to just hear from my daughter every other day via email.

Just to know she is okay is a blessing.  I am just glad they are away from all that mess in the port they were in.

Facebook privleges were taken away earlier in the deployment. They can get on their personal emails but less details should be given out about the deployment on there for security reasons :) I get to email my husband pretty much every day which is nice for me. The next step is skype, he's ready but I'm not. I just started being able to talk to him on the phone without crying the whole time. Seeing him and talking to him at the same time is a whole new experience

Haha yeah I had that problem so I created an account just for my husband so my phone wouldn't over flow with emails. Sometimes there are also settings that let you choose who you want to see emails from. That helps too.

We are from San Antonio :)
Mary- yay. Isn't it the best when you get an email from them? I have my email hooked up to my phone so I can respond instantly. To me it makes this deployment easier. It feels like we are just txting back and forth :)
