good morning all- at least it is in Texas! I just joined this- my daughter is aboard your ship..did they get to see the superbowl? not sure how that kind of thing works even in the 21st century

Thank you, Julie, I was thinking about doing that.  In the past when he received any type of award, they Navy's historian would send out a packet with the article which was supposed to be supplied to the local paper.

My son was just awarded the Sailor of the Quarter for the entire Middle Pacific Fleet!  I am so proud of him.  I know how hard he works and how proud he is of the Navy.  I would like to have this published in our local paper but not sure how to do that.  Any ideas?

Great!!! My daughter also called me this morning and said we won't hear from them for awhile.

Sure did. He called yesterday morning. They were back in a port. So he gave me his email and everything. All is good, thanks for asking.

SkaterDad did you ever hear from your son?

I received an email from my daughter today and she is doing fine.  Doing alot of painting.  Always good to hear from your child.  Hang in there SkaterDad - it takes them awhile to get settled and find a way to communicate back.  But he will.

Wish ours would call and say he is there. He left DC last Saturday headed for the ship, but we haven't heard since.

I'm missing my daughter.  Can't wait until she gets to come home again.
