OK, thanks Theresa! We'll talk about who gets to go. My husband and I have 6 children and the bus trip may be too long for the little one's. My husband and I will have to fight over who gets to go on the tiger cruise while the other one stays behind with some of the kids at the hotel!

Thanks! I'd like to hear a little bit more about the tiger cruise. How much does it cost? Also, if we were to meet up with the ship at one point, and then end up in Norfolk, how would we have a vehicle to drive home in?

brendaw1976 I bet your son and my son were together.  My son left on 2/15 to meet the Ponce and he was on 4 continents also.  He is really liking being on the ship too.  I get to chat or message back and forth on facebook every day or so too.  I leave a window open for facebook all day at work just in case he gets a chance to get online.

Pam, Tina and Theresa, Thank you for the welcome. I am very pleased to be a part of the group. I guess we never do fully adapt to this stage of our lives. I found out my son is coming home on leave before he meets the Ponce so I could have him home as soon as  next week. I can't wait!! Theresa I will let you know if he needs anything and thank you so much for the kind offer. He will appreciate that as well. Have a great day. Also is there a chat on this site? I know when my son was in bootcamp and even after we had an alum site that had the chat and that sure is nice to communicate.

Hello Navy Moms! I'm new to Navy For Moms. My 18-year-old son joined up with the USS Ponce a few weeks ago. He was in 4 continents in a 2-week time period- N. America, Asia, Africa and Europe! He's having a really good time and I am so thankful I can connect with him on Facebook every few days or so. I was a Navy wife from 1994-1998 when my husband was a cook (MS/ now called CS) for the Seabees. I look forward to meeting you all!

Welcome Jacques...It's defiantly a nerve racking time, but I know you will find these ladies very helpful. It's nice to know other moms going through the same thing!
