Hi ladies, yes to both. I learned about it from the yahoo/Ponce group. I emailed the Omsbudsman and had to get approved. It took a while for the Omsbudsman to get back to me. I'm not sure, but I seem to be on 2 different emails, this one and the other one. The other address I am not able to access at work, so I log on at home in the evenings. The ship address is on ship's website, and you can adress packages to them. My family and I have been sending my son letters, cards, candy (not recommended, it melts) and nutrition bars. There is a list of what not to send. This is my son's first deployment, but he seems to be enjoying it. Please let me know if you need more information regarding the other site.

Is it possible to send care packages/gifts to our sons on the ship? Can someone tell me what the APO (mailing address) for the boys is? Can someone tell me what OC spraying is? Oh my, I love this group.

Hello everyone. I am new to this group. My son, Douglas is on the USS Ponce. We can call him OkieDoug. Thank you for allowing me to join this group. I get email from him every day. He must be a little homesick because I have never heard from him this often. Ha. I know one thing for sure. I miss him very much. I also know I enjoy the camaradie with ladies like you.

We appreciate being able to send a message to our sailor. It is a neat idea. I just read through my message and the last sentence was for you. So I just wanted to clarify our message. "Adam, Turkey hunting and homemade jerky is waiting for you in Nebraska, love Dad & Mom & Taylor"

I just thought that if there is another Adam on the ship.... (which there probably is) he would know for sure that the message is for him.....

My son just joined the Ponce in August. We didn't get to see him off, but we did get to see him in July. So very proud of them all!!

Yes thank you Pam! I don't comment often but it is wonderful to read and know that I am not alone. I don't know how parents, wives and families survived this without the technology we have today.

Theresa, I would love to be kept in the loop... Thank you!
