I've been checking different news sources- on Fox News, there is a picture taken from the USS Ponce of a missile being shot off. It's in night vision. Pretty cool!

My son sounded upbeat and ready for action this morning. I'm proud of all of our sailors, too. History is in the making- and they are right there.

I got an email from my son last night.  He, too, talked about the big fire works show and was so thrilled to be a part of history. It is true, they are right in the midst of history being made. He said they saw their ship on TV and that he was so excited he couldn't sleep.  What an experience for these young men.  I am so very proud of all of them and can't wait to hear all their stories when they return.  God bless them and be with them in these troubling times.

I, too watched CNN all day yesterday and when I went to bed, I left the TV on and couldn't sleep.  David King had a piece showing where all the ships are and mentioned the USS Ponce.  That's when I cried.  Not from fear but from intense pride.

I was chatting with my son on FB this morning and he said that they were close enough to see 30 Tomahawk missiles being fired off. He said it looked like big fireworks.

Today's NY Daily News reported that USS Barry, Stout, Kearsarge and Ponce are positioned near Libya, also British ships.

Do you think this could affect when the Ponce will return?

When I saw that no one was posting today I knew we were all glued to CNN watching the news!

It looks like from the news this morning that Gaddafi is attacking again. I had a feeling this would happen. He's not a very trustworthy leader.
