Hello to all, My name is Kerin and my son Adam is on the Ramage.  According to his rather short (ok, make that 3 word) emails he is enjoying deployment and can't wait to come home.  I live in Arizona, today the weather is a balmy 80 degrees and beautiful in the desert.  To those of you in the Northeast, stay warm!  Being a Navy Mom is such a wonderful thing.  According to Adam, the crew is close knit, friendly and supportive; very reassuring to me so far away.  I understand the deployment has been extended.  Do we know how long as I would love to meet the ship when they dock as I was unable to attend when they deployed.  Prayers and Faith to all!

Hey, Joanne! You are very welcome! I too thrive on details! Sorry it took me so long to respond back; I didn't receive an email notification of your response and haven't had much time to spend on here. Hope you are now getting emails from Kim! She sent us the great news that the USO pkgs have reached the ship! I was so excited when I found out they would not only send one to my son Chris, but to the whole ship! PTL!

Hi Ladies...just checking in.  I formed this group and left it after my son left the Ramage.  Would anyone care to take over admin duties?  It's only a matter of keeping the info updated in the above box: "Links, Pictures and other Stuff". It would allow all of you to share common info (such as ombudsman's email)

Joanne, welcome to N4M and the Ramage! Is your son an Ensign also? If so did he do ROTC or OCS? Mine did ROTC, graduated May2010 and this is his 1st deployment also! What is his job? As I mentioned below, your son will need to request you be added. The ombudsman email is ussramage.ombudsman@gmail.com if you'd like to email her or add her address to you contact list to ensure emails from her once your son signs you up. She is super busy and often has emergency situations to deal with but she will address your son's request as quickly as she can. I'm from Middletown, OH; where are you from? Don't hesitate to ask questions on here; it's a great place to learn more about the Navy and your son's job!

Hi everyone.  You will never believe what I received from my son today........a big beautiful bouquet of flowers!!!!  For no reason at all!!!!!   I don't know how he did it, probably on the computer, but I am so surprised.  What a sweetheart my Nick is.  Feels just like a big hug.

Welcome to the moms of new Ramage sailors! Be sure to get signed up for emails form the ombudsman. Kim is a great lady. Your sailor will need to request that your email be added to the group email list.

Hello everyone.  Just wanted to let you know that I heard from my son yesterday.   He sent me a long email and said that the computer on the ship has been down for quite a while, so if you haven't heard from your sailor in a while it may be that they are waiting to get computer time now that it is up,  My son said they have been going to some beautiful places and really having the opportunity to see a lot of the world.  Hope you hear from your sailor soon!!

I ordered a Blue Star Service Flag last week and received and hung in my front window on Sat. I heard about it on N4M but don't remember what group. I love it! Also ordered a necklace, You spouses may already know about the flag and I've heard you're discouraged from displaying anything that would tip thieves off that you're the wife of a sailor and may be alone. So sad that our society is so cruel. For those who have never heard of it you can go to www.bluestarmothers.org and read about the history and to www.serviceflags.com to see the available merchandise
