Rae, I'm sorry to hear that you are going through all of that! Just remember, we are all here for you, so write away. Thanks for the prayers, and mine are with you. Stay strong and positive.

also, on the ships he'd go down to the admin office and talk with the dispersing clerk about this, or whatever they call them now. So many rates are combining, I can't keep up!

But as soon as you move to the Everett area, make sure your husband lets the command know as soon as you arrive in the Everett area. B/c if he doesn't, this is BAH fruad to the Navy and they will take all the money back. Again, its up to the command on whether or not they approve it. They more than likely will, I just wanted to let you know that!

anna, if your asking of whether or not you can still have the BAH in the area your gonna stay at, then I get your question. It is up to the command to approve this, I believe. Since what I think you are doing is staying behind in the state you are in, then your hubby needs to find out through his PSD (personnal support and detachment department) and ask that question. I believe that they can approve this as long as you provide documentation of your lease/mortgage for that area. This something your hubby needs to look into.

~Do it Yourself Move (DITY)~
Members who volunteer to move themselves and meet all requirements are entitled to 95 percent of what it would cost the government to pay a government contracted carrier. Most members can receive up to 60 percent of this amount in advance, to help cover the expenses of their move. Some restrictions apply.

This is what my son and his wife did!
And YES I have heard of it!...Sea Duty ...the Davis is an active ship with deployments coming up!
Here is a bit of info..on types of moving and the military website!
