Rae Ellen, for your Christmas tree - one thought would be make it red, white and blue. Get a great photo of your Sailor in uniform, cut it into an oval or circle shape, glue it to a med-large ornament ball and embellish it with decorative trim, then in small letters on the backside, the sailor name and home state. It would be fun to see what state all the sailors came from.

Forgot to ask when I was on earlier but does anyone know more detailed info while our Sailors were at their last port about how that painting job came about? Some of the sailors helped paint an old building in town. We'd just like to know only because we keep family & friends up-to-date on news of our son. I'm sure they all did a wonderful job on that project. I hope KC got some pictures.

Hey girls,
hope everyones Sat is going GREAT. now the business with the phone cards..I am going to forward that question to Molly at Adopt a Sailor project. she could email the MC AND Find out for us...
Hope eveyone is telling our sailors that the Davis has been adopted, cause we want to surprise all the sailors aboard.
as for the e-mails, shawn was told early in the week that the email was going down but we, I mean heather , me and my sister have been receiving regular emails from shawn..a few times a day.
So it may be that your sailors is just busy..they work all the time. Shawn said he gets up a few minutes early each day just to write emails.

Rae Ellencould you please if possible let us know about the RMD mtg. we would love any and all info.

My last email from shawn said, sorry mom can't tell you where we are/ I didn't really ask, just asked what time zone he or they were in...that he said he could answer..but location NO....I can't post excactly what he said here but put it this way...
he gave me about a range of over 1000 miles give or take a few thousand lol
anyway...have a great evening

Hi, Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I thought the email was going to be down because I just received an email from KC from this past Wednesday.

I just sent off KC's first pkg the other day and trying to start on his next one for Christmas. I'll have to get that off within these next couple of weeks. In his first pkg I put mostly snack items in it along with some single paks Kleenex, toothbrushes, toothpaste, puzzle book, those Listerine pocket mist he uses. This next one I found a couple of Mini Inspirational Books, he likes those glow-in-the-dark light stix....will pick up a couple of tshirts and add some special items for xmas....oh, and want to add a mini battery operated string of xmas lights too. I know they don't have any place to hang or put anything but wanted to send along the lights anyway...he'll find a spot to put them....a little something to enjoy for the holiday. Whenever I'm out I pick up a little something here & there just to add to KC's packages. When they are stuffed to the sides they are ready to send off.

I'm a little confused about those international calling cards too but I think I might have found them at Office Depot. But I need to call their customer service number and ask them some questions about it before purchasing them..

I thought boot camp was tough but our Sailors being away at this time is worse. I know that we are all missing our loved ones and we have our good days and bad days. Yeah, I had another one of those bad days the other day.

Tammy, was sorry to hear about your son and I hope he is doing okay.

All have a good afternoon and evening! :)
Hugs to everyone!

Hey girls
Sitting here on a Friday nite...Heather went away with her family for a week and MOM2 has the dog...thats all good.
I went to the store after work today and am starting to put together Shawn's next box...Heather has some great ideas...I know when he gets and opens that first box..He is gonna smile BIG...I have a mental pic right now...Enjoy Shawn you deserve it
I e-mail shawn today and told him >>>All work and no play makes Shawn a dull boy''''''' I know he will say OH Mom...when he reads that....
So Heather will go to the DR..when she gets back..and if she doesn't mind ,,,I will ask to tag along..sonogram time...maybe get to know boy//girl???? No stress Heather..
I would love to play Wheres the Davis??? just like Where Waldo?? but don't think the Navy would look kindly on that..so maybe we will do that at home..I am gonna go to the store and get a big wall map and track the Davis..Its could be fun!!!
Hope everyone is hanging on tight!!

Yeah, my son was telling about the great tasting food they enjoyed. He was always thin but has gained a few pounds within the last few months. He says it's all that Navy food...fast food....junk food...any kind of food that looks good to him. :)
