Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by joirenee on March 10, 2013 at 8:14am: Yes, my son did email me. He was angry I used this route but now he may email more often. I don't mind that he doesn't email me every week or anything but 5-6 weeks with nothing and yet hearing all these things from you all made me kind of wonder, since I knew there was nothing wrong between us. I was not even upset that he was angry, I was just glad that he was safe and well. Yes, he was extremely busy which was the reason. Please pray for our sailors. They are not the happiest of campers at the moment.

Comment by Tmon on March 9, 2013 at 4:36am: I know what you are going through. It took seven weeks for my son to let me know he made it to the ship for his last deployment. I finally contacted the Ombudsman.. I got an email within hours. You might want to try that if you don't hear from him soon.

He's an engineer, he's super busy all the time, but I'll let him know

When you all talk to your sons and daughters can you ask them to contact my son, last name Knotts in DC to send me an email or note on facebook that he is okay? It has been over a month since I have heard from him. I know that there is nothing wrong between us and he is probably just busy but it has been a really long time since I have heard from him and am starting to worry. Thanks!
