Hi All,

I've been emailing my daughter for quit a while this evening...so good to hear from her.  But honestly, I'm more stressed NOW about her/the ship than I've EVER been.  Has anyone heard anything about them being a sitting duck for Iran's new test missiles?  She stated that's why they're rushing to get underway...I'm so worried for our sailors

Hi Joirenee,

If you have an immediate need or concern I've had wondrous success with the ombudsman to the ship...they have direct communication and can guide you to the contact info to THE RED CROSS.  They're wonderful ladies and VERY prompt.  Here's there info.

The Red Cross... They take care of contacting command etc. We had to do this a year ago and they handled it wonderfully.

Question: If there was an emergency how do we get hold of our son or daughter onboard ship? I presently have no emergency I am just writing my "In case of death please contact" list. Thanks!

Tmon-the ankle is such a difficult heal, sorry to hear he needs surgery, yes, she will be back soon, she will be out of commission for aprx 8-12 weeks if all goes well. I hope they end up in the same place, maybe they can get someone to bring them some sushi :-)
Comment by Tmon on February 17, 2013 at 3:04pm
Sharpies Mom, they are indeed sushi pals. My son's accident was seemed to be unserious, especially compared to your daughters fall. Unfortunately, he broke it jay the worse place and will require surgery. Looks like he will be out of commission 4 to 7 months. I understand your daughter will be stateside soon as we'll.

She was extremely lucky. for such a horrible fall, she only sustained 3 fractures which will not require surgery. she is in a brace and on crutches, back to WA for rehab and P/T, they expect she will be able to rejoin for the remainder of the tour. they are taking very very good care of her and she is in good spirits. Thank you for your prayers. and Chel's mom...thank you for the info... :)
