I am sorry about your daughter. She was one of my daughters friends also and she's very sad about the whole incident as well as her leaving. Prayers for all of you!

It's been a while since i have been on here. My daughter is going back to WA, she is "broken" can anyone tell me how to reach the ombudsman for the Shoup. I know there are two but have never contacted them before...

@Tmon...my daughter and your son are "sushi buddies"... if you talk to him, my daughter is the one that fell 23', he will know exactly who she is...

We were in Japan last year everyone on the tour kept talking about how great the coffee from the machines were. Now I know why they were so lively. :) it looks like my sailor is coming back to Washington. It appears he broke an ankle. He is so disappointed. He loves Japan. Hopefully, he will join the ship soon.

Has anyone's sailors talked about the "canned" coffee machine, how good the coffee is and they can get it hot or cold?  It's called "Georgia" coffee?  Well, Chels just found out that there's NICOTINE in the ingredients...it's equal to 2 cigarettes per can of coffee.  Isn't that lovely that they're doing this to our kids!!!

Comment by Chels's mom on February 10, 2013 at 6:21pm

Chels said that they'll be there thru March...all other ports have been cancelled.  Also she said the Nemitz has cancelled joining them so they'll be steaming independently

My Sarah called us last night. It was so good to here her voice. She said she had gone to Tokyo and visited a very beautiful temple.  She said the language barrier is difficult.

Vanessa, I am sure she is ok otherwise u definitely would have heard from someone. Frustrating when we don't hear but there are probably a million reasons.
Guess we can't always try and fix their problems but we wouldn't be moms if we didn't. Hopefully the kids all have a chance to check out surroundings, maybe someone will figure it out and get it squared away over there. It would help the morale.!
