Kristy, I am from Peru, Indiana. I actually went to Ball State University and am very familiar with the Muncie area. I bet my daughter has perhaps worked with your son. She has been cranking which means working in the on the mess decks with the cooks. She has been working 14 hour days, and said she is exhausted.
This website has been a Godsend to me for the past year and will continue to be. It is a place for support and sharing answers and questions. I welcome all who are here.
Sarahs mom, where in IN? I have family in Muncie. I live in Kenosha WI, son is CS(culinary specialist)

As part of this group, I would welcome ALL loved ones who have a Shoup sailor! moms, dads, siblings, grandparents, wives, aunts...during this challenging time when my son is on deployment, we all need support and some sense of connection to him. I am thankful for this group. I look forward to all its promise in the long months ahead.
My daughter emailed me yesterday, late in the day. I guess their email was down all day yesterday. Just wanted to let you all know.
I am from Indiana. Welcome kristy.
any shoup families from near milwaukee area?
Oh my. I hope they are able to get this fixed soon.
My daughter is a bosens (sp?) mate and is on deck (OD). When I send her a package I put her FIRST AND LAST NAME
USS SHOUP DDG 86
FPO/AP 96678-1300
OD
You can get large flat rate boxes from the post office for free. You will have to tape them together yourself. Also, there is a special form that you have to fill out claiming what is in the box. There is never enough room on the form to enter all of the items that I have put in the box, so I just put a few things down on the form and leave out the rest. It will cost around $14 to ship out the box, and it does not matter how heavy the box is. If it is 10 pounds or 30 pounds the ship fee is still $14.00. Hope this helps
Im not sure that i have the correct details about the rank and dept.also I can't remember if I list both first and last names.... should I go ahead and send the package? also can someone post how the address should appear. Yeah for warmer weather, I think I will hold off on the hand warmers;) to make more room for girl scout cookies!
Mamasan(love that name!) I have not heard from my sailor either, I have no doubt that they are being kept so busy.
Kristy
