Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!
Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!
Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. Tickets are now issued for all guests, and all guests must have a ticket to enter base. A separate parking pass is no longer needed to drive on to base for parking.

My son usually sends me a message via fb every day. I haven't gotten a message in several days. Has anyone gotten any electronic communications from their Sailor in the last 4 days?

Also the Night before party has moved One day sooner too. Same location, Same time.

USS TRUXTUN bracelets- like the Lance Armstrong bands. They are navy blue and yellow. has the name and motto on them. $2each. available in adults and kids.( if you have small wrists i suggest getting a kids)
First hug/first kiss tickets. First kiss are for significant others and first hugs are for families and kids. $1 each or 6 for $5. Winners of these tickets will get to greet their sailor on the ship. Hurry and get them now, prices will go up as the date gets closer.

I know you've seen these pages written many times but we don't want any one to be left out. USS TRUXTUN FRG & USS TRUXTUN ONBUDSMAN facebook pages. All info just given here are on these pages. One more facebook page USS TRUXTUN (DDG 103) - government organization has alot of pictures from training, pinning, daily work, and more. I've seen my husband in 2 pics so far. Ok, as we have said before MANY, MANY times, Everything is subject to change with the ships return date. Well, as of this morning, it has officially been changed. The ship will be returning home ONE day earlier than expected. PLEASE, if you are buying plane tickets, PLEASE purchase the insurance for your ticket! Yes, just about 10 minutes. It could be even less, because there is a back gate to the base right in Ocean View, but the passes given out may only be for a certain gate.

Did everyone see the announcement on the FRG page about the night before party? It will be at the Ben Moreell Community Center, which is just about a mile from base. The exact address is on the facebook page :)
