From what I understand if hes not home on leave when you get married (its just weekend liberty) then he has to stay within so many miles of wherever hes stationed so that would depend on how far his parents property is. We were told theyd give him a 4 day weekend to get married but we had to stay within 200 miles of base ( I think) so we just decided to do it when hes home on leave.

Hey everyone.. I'm kind of in a unique situation.. I am not *technically* engaged. No ring, but we talk about it all the time.. Boot camp and then right off to A school kind of interrupted his chance to get the dern ring sized. ha! anyways - My boyfriend is in A school and will graduated in September (if he proposes when I visit him in June, I'm totally okay with planning a fast wedding for Sept). He will be able to come home on leave for 2 weeks before returning back to P'cola for his C school. His C school is 16 weeks long, so he should graduate from there in Feb. SO here is my question. He will get orders after graduation and then go where ever he is stationed. I will not go at first, because I am a school teacher and will have to fulfill the year (til mid June). I have always wanted a May wedding. We both want to get married on his parents property. If he is stationed, can he come back to get married? Even if all he has is a couple of days? Then, I guess he would go back (without a honeymoon :[) and I would keep working til I can move with him. If anyone has gotten married while their husband is stationed, please share your story. Thank you!

Oh, and to add you as a dependent, he needs to update his page four and put you as his next of kin. When you go for your id, you need your social security card, a note from social security showing that you intend on changing your name (if you do. If not, don't worry about it), your birth certificate, notarized copy of your marriage license, and your drivers license.

I asked my husband, and he said that the first day your husband returns to work, he will have to update his page two. Now how long it takes for it to kick in depends on admin. When my husband was capped to E-5, he immediately submitted for BAH. It took about two pay cycles to kick in, and they include the back pay in there as well. But as soon as he submits his page two, you can move in. Let me know if you have anymore questions. We're in the middle of a PCS right now, but I will reply as soon as possible. Best of luck on your upcoming wedding!

As the active duty member, he adds you to his page two and puts in for BAH. Not something you are allowed to handle.  He will need the marriage certificate, your SSN and driver's license, and in some cases, they want your birth certificate too. Getting on page two only takes moments.  Getting the BAH, it takes a few pay cycles (think four to six weeks if things are slow) to show up.

Living with you depends on the situation, is he still in school?
