Demi, that is sooo cute... Jess I will be needing your advice when it's time to start planning for my big day... He will be deploying in May for 7 months and we have decided to wait to set the date when he gets back.

ahhhhh best info ever :) i know it'll be bumpy... i'm flying solo to pensacola and doing a jp quickie wedding and then we're having the ceremony during the liberty weeks. i'm SO BLESSED with a HUGE network of magical people in my life, such as: my bff, a photographer, my aunt, a wedding cake-maker, my friend who's a dj.... everything just worked out in our favor! and my pastor told my dad at church today that he's letting us rent the church for 1/2 odd as a military discount! :D

No I don't mind at all! He's an E-5 and he just re-enlisted. We got engaged February 2010, right before he deployed. So my mom (she lives two hours away in Orlando) and I have spent the past 13 months planning. There have been lots of bumps along the way, like having to push around dates and what not according to his schedule for the ship. But we got a lucky break for our wedding date. We randomly selected April 2nd, because I wanted a spring wedding, but I didn't want anything too late in the spring that ran the chance of affecting my youngest sister's senior prom or her graduation. But it turns out that the date we selected worked perfectly with his time ending on his the Vicksburg (his last day is April 1st) and then he has a month off before he has to report to the Eisenhower. But the best tip I can give you in planning is to be flexible, and work with vendors who can be flexible as well. Also, budget wisely! We are lucky because my parents are well off financially, so we can focus our money on the move. But for the things that we did have to cover, like our photographer, we found what deals we could, and went with someone who was new and up and coming. That saved us a ton of money in the long run, and our photographer is the best! She's the one who took my profile photo (: But mostly, just budget, be flexible, and stick to your guns. FH and I are both Catholic, and fairly religous, so we were bound and determine to get married in the way that is right for us, and that's in front of God and our families. Just don't give up (: And I'm here if you need advice. Sorry this was long winded, lol. I'm just trying to give insight. Let me know if you need any planning tips or anything more specific!

Sooo I offically become a Navy wifey in two weeks! I couldn't be more excited to marry my best friend (: But most importantly, ladies don't lose hope, no matter what people tell you. It is possible to have the big white wedding with the fairy tale ending even though you're marrying a sailor. There will be obstacles, and you might have to switch things around here and there, but if you stick by your guns and have faith, it can happen. Keep your heads up ladies (:

Thanks for the link! My FH and I were going to do a Navy one, but then my parents surprised us with this beautiful cake topper by Lenox. But I still think the Navy ones are so cute!
