Ladies, I have been thinking about you this weekend. Bravo Zulu to all!!
Congrats to our new WI sailors that are graduating on Friday!
Melindy, my son is also an EM.
Melindy I'm still waiting to find out what my SR got for nuke job. I know he wanted either MMN or ETN. Let's just say that he's not too good on the communication aspect. Good thing he didn't want to be a communication specialist! LOL
Got a letter today from my SR. She got her second choice for job- EMN. Headed to Goose Creek after PIR
Ruthann, welcome. We are all here for you and each other.
SR stands for Seaman Recruit, or if you want, Sailor Recruit. While they are in basic (boot camp), they are considered SRs because they are still in training. They officially become sailors after they pass their big test. Towards the end of basic, they get to call home and say "I am a sailor." It IS a BIG deal.
My son has been in for a year. It is a wonderful experience!
Hi, Yep we've heard from our SR. We talked last Sunday 3/3 for 20 minutes and then he called again on Wednesday for the "I'm still alive" call..so I let his brothers talk to him. A much shorter call but still nice to hear his voice :) I can't believe we're already at the 1 month mark..on the 19th it will be exactly one month since I turned my baby boy over to the navy for safe keeping :)
Melindy, so glad to hear that. It is always wonderful when they sound content in their letters!
Hello ladies, Just wondering if you have heard from your sailors in basic? How is everything?
