Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

MJ - you hang in there!  Us NavyMoms are NavyStrong... because we're here for each other and because we know our kids need us to be strong!  You've obvioulsy done a good job in raising that boy - he'll be ok!! 

I used to have sudden crying fits all the time... thankfully they're less frequent now... it's a process and we're here for you through it all!

Another new WI mom here....my son's PIR is 10/14/11 and I miss him so much I am going crazy!! I cry all the time yet, I'm thrilled with ever letter I get from him and can't wait to see him, I'm so very proud of him and yet i'm scared for him too!

I have not been on here in forever!!  So much to read and catch up on.  My daughter just got back from a 7 month deployment with the Reagan it has been an interesting journey.  I asked her while she was ported in Hawaii if she was going to the beach or going to watch the surfers on the ocean and she said "No, are you kidding I am going inland!! no ocean views for me"  I am thankful to have her stateside that way I can call and text her whenever I want...the simple joys in life.  Anyway...this is a great site to learn from and to chat with people who are going through similar experiences.  Have a great day everyone!!!
