Hello everyone! My son just had PIR 9/9 and I was told there was a Wisconsin group so here I am! Can't wait to meet all of you and keep learning about my son's experiences he will have. This site is a life-line and I am proud my son enabled me to be a part of it. :)

mom2nw - Sorry to hear you were having a bad time with your emotions.  Things will be a lot easier once PIR is over and you can at the least talk with him.  It is still hard being away from them, but hearing their voice helps!  We still all have our days of melt down though...my daughter just called as they were pulling out of port. :(  So it will be a little while before I can talk with her again.  But on the ship she can email...so that is good and something to look forward to!  I don't know if I will ever get use to this 'situation', but as long as I can communicate I do 'okay'!  I try to check in here daily, if not, I always do when comments are made...so feel free to write back at anytime...I know someone will get back to you in a short time.  I have only been with this sight a short time, but have talked with some great mom's who have been a big help. I am helping to put together the Meet & Greet and am really looking forward to putting faces, names, and Sailors all together with one face. Sadly I didn't know about this when my daughter graduated...so I haven't been to a M&G yet. I hope you can make this picnic.  You take care, keep writing, it was the one thing that my daughter said kept her going...take care!  Kim

I'm having 'one of those days'...weepy and missing my boy, and thought I would check in here. Philly5: how is boot camp going? when is PIR?  Eaglemom, have you heard from your son? Prayers for both of you and all our Navy family.  Cathi, maybe some northern IL N4Ms would want to come to the M&G ??   As usual, the support and comradarie I see on this site lifts my spirits , and yes, Jen....time to pull on my big girl pants !

eaglemom keeping you all in my thoughts!

Phiily5-just be prepared they are so busy during BC & only are allowed a short period of time to write/read letters.  Too I think at first they try to write to everyone......, a good idea is to send a bunch of prestamped envelopes, thats one less thing he has to worry about.

Love and hugs and prayers of support, strenght and hope for you and family Eaglemom!!  :-)   I have to remind myself all the time that his job is so much harder than mine and that I need to pull up my big girl pants and get on with it - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't :-)  Love ya'll!!!  Thank God for this little corner of cyberspace and each other!

Philly5 - We're all here for you!  Yes, "emotional" is probably the best way to describe how we all felt when our kids signed in, and then went in!  I for one seriously doubted my sanity at many times!  (still do that, but I've been told I'm not certifiable yet - ha ha)  This entire site was my lifesaver!   Feel free to vent, scream (figuratively) cry, laugh....  we got your back!
