When our son was on deployment they used facebook more than email. but there are many times when there is no communication. But check facebook because your sons ship may have a communications person that gives you updates ours did so daily was what we looked for every day.

Hi Terri, this is Kris's husband. When our son was out there were time we would get this message also. What happens is depending on where his boat is, the Navy may have restrictions on internet access to get outside world things for security reasons. he would get the message within set parameters and could send during set parameters. It is the Navy's communication system so they have the say so on your messages.

Welcome to the group TLogan!!
Got a ? for all of you. My son is out on deployment right now and the only way to contact him is his ship email. Well I keep sending him an email and it keeps coming back to me with a message that it will resend for two weeks. He emailed this to me himself and I added it to my contacts, so I don't get what I'm doing wrong. HELP?!

Thanks, I'm still on cloud 9. To top it off; I got home & found 3 letters came in the mail yesterday. Oh it was so nice! Sounds like week #2 was really rough, the div was not working well & he had wisdom teeth pulled. :( Over the weekend seemed to turn the tide! He started going to church, too. :) Sounded good on the phone!
