Thanks Jakesmom-- I am very happy for him. He's a smart kid, really good in Math & Science. The EM job uses both of those. He wanted to be a Diver but medical issues stopped that, I think he would have been wasting his god given talent. But you can't tell them Mom knows best!! Good luck to your son, too!!

WooHoo-- great news, they are sending my son to C-school (weapons cargo/ elevator). One more month in GL! I told him to make the best of it, it won't be to long. He's happy about the school though, he was one of three that they picked. Way to go, son!

Happy Birthday, Denise!!! Make the best of it!!

Happy B-Day Denise! My son complained about the weather at Great Lakes last night when I talked to him and said he missed our weather till I told him it's been raining almost every day. Good for the garden but the lawn is becoming a hayfield...

Thank you all for answering my comment. My daughter graduates the end of july and is headed for Texas for MA school. Still no word other than 4 sentences at the end of her grad form. We hope she gets to call on fathers day. I am keeping very busy with work and everything else. I try and write her almost everyday. I know she is fine. She is one tough young lady. My son took his asvab test this week. I am proud of both my children but I will miss them dearly. They are doing the right thing. My husband and I both served so I guess the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree.

Hello momkoz--- I live in Green Bay, and my son has been in for 9 mos. he's getting ready to leave for his first command to San Diego. What will your daughter be doing? We are one big happy family here, so don't be shy! It's a sad thing for us parents to let them go but a beautiful site for them as they grow into adults! Good luck to you and your daughter. One piece of advice-- keep yourself busy, time will fly!

hello all, I live in Spring Green and my daughter left last Wednesday for basic.
It is nice to see a site where the moms actually live closeby. Waiting anxiously for the time she can call.

My son is on the Ike. Is loving all the places he has been and the things he has seen and done since joining Aug. 2009. Even the cranking wasn't so bad.
