Do you know if there is a travel reservation desk they can use over there to make their flight reservations? I'm assuming it's cheaper if he makes them from there but he doesn't know where to start. Any suggestions?
My son ended up taking the train to get to Narita. The shuttle bus fills up fast. They have an express line to Yokohama and then an express line from there to Narita.
My sailor is coming home in Feb. for a couple of weeks. Does anyone know what the closest airport is to the Yokosuka base that he should fly out of?
My daughter felt the earthquake on shore but it wasn't too bad. She said it only lasted about 5 seconds where she was.
my son said he didn't even feel the earthquake. he lives on the ship so don't know if they felt anything onshore. news says no reports of damage.
@ Daisy it's true they sit alot and wait. My daughter had to take a lot of classes and didn't actually start working until about 2 weeks after she got there. Now she is on a 7 day on and 7 day off rotation. Which she likes but she is super tired.
@Blondie I wish I could do that. I didn't know when I would see my girl again, especially with all the stuff going on in the world so I stayed until we saw her plane take off. I just wanted to be with her as long as I could. Extremely glad she is happy there though.
They are in the first part of the trip so will be glad to have them there and busy it's been a lot of lay over time to sit and think to much. Will be better when they are busy and learning the ropes. At least from the mom's opinion. lol Thanks for the support.
Our daughter also traveled with a friend to Japan and she said it made the flight alot easier. My daughter loves Japan and I am sure your sailors will love it too.
