Paola,
Your friends husband needs to stay on their A$$. He needs to go to PSD everyday. Remember the old saying THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THE GREASE. Also he needs to make sure that he is getting the COLA for Japan. He may need to bring it to the attention of his chain of command if this matter does not get resolved soon.

my Friends husband is in Japan, they got married in December and he still has yet to receive pay as if he had her as a dependent. Their giving them the run around on why they haven't paid him. What does she need to do or send to get this resolved??

Saw some discussions regarding phones. Softbank offers plans from time to time that let them call home to the U.S. all they want for about $70.00 a month. They don't always have that promotion going, but when they do, your sailor should take advantage of it. I't a super good deal. My daughter has her bill taken directly out of her check.

I have heard of it. There is a link to it on the IKE website.

when my daughter was in Italy and she wanted to keep her phone turned on and using it there, we signed up for a international plan and all well they still charged her $1.00 a min, after a$1000 cell bill I told her she can't afford that so we just put it on military suspension so she could keep her same number and I just turn it on the day before she comes home from Japan. I do know that only certain providers work in Japan.

Oh trust me I understand. Guys just need to stay out of it. They don't have the estrogen to understand. LOLOLOL In regards to the phone my son had his phone transferred into his name and then it was put on hold. You don't need to tell me about fibro/migraines. UGH!!!! I had a doctor ask me yesterday if I was depressed. I told hubby what the doctor asked me and he had the nerve to say WELL I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING. I said no I'm not depressed more on the pissed side. It took me getting really pissed off last week to go to the PCP office and demand the referrals that I have been waiting on since Feburary for the Nerousurgeon and pain management doctors. Got the office manager in trouble. Told the PCP that I could do her job better than her, even with all the pain. Needless to say she isn't speaking to me. My feelings are really hurt. NOT!! She had the flipping nerve to write on the bottom of a bill that we got for my son that SPONSOR NOT ON DEERS, CALL TRICARE. This was back in March. I called her and said to her, why do I have to call TRICARE why don't you check your billing info? I said my bills and my husbands (sponsor) bills are getting paid. I was not going to do her job for her. And of course they had 1 number wrong in hubbys ssn on my son. And do you think she has rebilled it yet. Told the PCP about that also and that I am not going to pay 114.00 bill because his office manager can't bill correctly. OK now I am done venting for now. If the phone works for your daughter let me know then I will have my sons phone turned back on and sent to him. But also tell her to make sure she gets some kind of renters insurance. USAA has it. There seems to be alot of theft on the boats.

Blondie all we had to do was call them and tell them to put my sons phone on a Military hold that he was going overseas. But to get the discount they had to take their Military ID in. And tell your daughter that just because they told her something different does not mean they are right. Tell her the advice we are giving is because we been there done that. LOLOLOL. Does she want me to call???
Comment by momof2sailors on May 10, 2010 at 1:21pm
Blondie,
Whoever told you that your daughters phone can only be put on hold for 2-3 months is wrong. All your daughter has to do is call them back and tell them it needs to be put on Military hold. That is what we did with my son's phone. To get the Military discount she would need to take her Military ID into a Verizon store and have them photocopy it.

Most cell phone companies will do that, just ask for a military suspension we have AT&T and they do it too. I didn't have to show her orders though.

My sailor left a voicemail on SKYPE for me last night after I went to bed.
