Blondie,
She is better off getting a phone once she gets to Japan. The phones are cheaper. Plus from what I understand the phones that cpme from the states don't work over in Japan. Call Me.

Hey not sure if you guys saw that MOLLY'S ADOPT A SAILOR is up for a $50,000.00 grant. If not go to PEPSI REFRESH on the internet and place your vote. Today we are at 102. We have to be in the top 10 to win.

Anyone know if there is a Navy Lodge on base?

kdmcfar,
My son has been in Japan since December. He loves it. He did not take his cell phone. He has verizon and it is on Military hold till he gets back to the state. It is cheaper for them to get a new cell phone once they get to Japan. My son is also on the GW.

I always send things in the priorty boxes from the post office. I don't thin kif you send by Fedex it is going to get there any faster. But you would have to check with Fedex. The last box I sent it got there in a week and a half.

If you send something Fed Ex will it get to Japan faster than priority mail from the post office?

Yes the besg our kids can do is get a cell phone in Japan when they get there. It is much cheaper. And like I said before the USO has phones that our kids can use to call home at no charge.

D's mom,
Just keep sending him mssgs. If he just arrived he is probably going thru indoc and that could take alittle while. And he could be real busy with it. It is also a new place and he could be exploring. Don't worry he will call or write. Send him a mssg telling him that the USO on base has computers and Phones that he can use to call home for free. him getting a Power of Attorney for you. Just in case something comes up in that states that you need to handle for him here. If he is attached to a ship they should have a legal deptartment on board where he can get one. Or he can go to the JAG office on base. We have had 2 issues come up with my son and I had to call him to get the POA so I could deal with the issues.

You might want to get one. That way you can SKYPE with your daughter in Japan.

We are doing good. Internet sucks where we are. We have to use WIFI and are only allowed 5gb of download a month.
