DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hello, I'm new to the group and I have a daughter on the Lassen. She reported to the ship recently. We haven't heard from her so It's nice to be able to read some of the blogs and know that all is well.

Hi Natalie, We are good here and I don't think anyone else felt the quake either.

My son did not feel the 7.3 earthquake this morning. He is in Yokosuka right now.

There was a email that I got from Military.com about it. I will see if I can find the article for you and PM it to you.

HI All,
Just a reminder about OPSEC. They have asked us not to talk about what ships or carriers that our kids are on.

TriziaLee,
Someone should have told your son he needed to email the ship and that a sponsor would be assigned to meet up with him. I will PM you my cell and you can call me and I can give you alittle more info. We aren't suppose to discuss paticular info on here.

Janis, from a link on yokosukabase.com, but it redirects you to japanbases.com now I think. Or on the USS BR group on FB, can't remember. JoAnna, when he made the team, how will he work it out if he's gone at sea? Mine played 9, 11 and 12. And basketball and baseball. In 10 he won regionals for Track Hurdles, and quit track in 12th to go with football only. He was in band 7-10 and sports and I think it wore him down. I wanted him in Ag since we're in the country, but he didn't care anything about our horses. :-(

Jane, the Stars N Stripes are so much better than Navy Times. Thanks for the info.

JoAnna, is he based in port or on a ship? My son had been attending the PRE PRE pre-season work-outs, drills, but will be deployed till ( I can't say) so will not be there. He misses football, was going to go to college (Mid-Western) for football, but joined the Navy. I was glad, the football injuries already have some arthritis in them. But he loves it so when I heard, I wasn't surprised.
