Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Proud Navy/NYPD Mom (Donna) on August 30, 2012 at 4:33pm: Niffer, don't ever, ever feel you are the only one again. Promise. You'll always have a Mom's ear here! I'm an 'outsider' from MA, but these Moms are always welcoming and helpful. Trust me, but especially trust them.

We've all been where you are and felt the same way. There is NO ONE else who understands than another military momma. Because who else can possibly "get it"? Stay strong. We've got your back! <3

Glad you gals had time to share, we all need that support. Sailor finally called this morning, soooooo good to hear his voice. Japan is just too darn far away! He's loving it though. Glad he's happy - just hope he keeps those "mom calls" coming!

We might try coordinating our packing parties so none of the states feel like they are too small to participate in some way. I think we are going to need to chat and kick this idea around, what do you think?

Oh, and not just what does Marlene think (altho I really do want to know), but some of the rest of this group?!!!!

We can show everyone that NEW ENGLAND ROCKS, we aren't our grandparents New Englanders ... ;P

Perhaps, the New England states should form their own Navy Mom coalition - then we could encourage each other, work together & plan some fun parties!!??

I don't know, but I do know Someone who does and I will be praying to God for your son and your family - and, your aching "mom-heart". Hugs and prayers coming your way.
