Hi Valtameri

Sorry, about calling it the first get-together.  I guess since I've been on this site for the past 22 months, it was the first one I had seen.  Again… Sorry about that.

I don't mind saying something about Andrew's accomplishments.  What does PACT stand for?  I didn't realize there was an undersignated group.

As for the luncheon sorry about your food allergy.  If I know know I would have suggested another place.   I'm having a hard time placing you.  Did you come to the packing party this past November at the Port 5?

Donna, I wonder if you have thought of posting on the undesignated group? I know that your son was able to strike -- but so many of the women on that list are wondering what may happen, and hear so many conflicting things about PACT, I am sure they would like to hear your son's story and how well he has been doing. :)

Certainly not the first CT Navy Moms get-together, but sounds fun.

I won't be able to attend because ... I know this will sound strange ... I have a sulfite sensitivity, and as garlic is naturally high in sulfites, I cannot go into Italian restaurants without turning red and having breathing difficulties.

I'd like to share with you all my exictement for my son Andrew on making Petty Officer 3rd Class.  For being in the service these past 22 months his accomplishments have been many.  Along with Petty Officer he went from Undesignated to Yeoman while also completing  6 online college courses towards his degree that he had started prior to joining the Navy.  He has come such a long way from joining the Navy as "undesignated".   So many things I have to be Thankful for this Thanksgiving Season.

A big Thank you to our servicemen and women and their families for their service.

Cath,  I wish I could answer your question about  what happens when they're at sea but since my son has yet to deploy I'm not sure.  He should be deploying in spring of 2014.
