OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Please note! Changes to this guide happened in October 2017. There are now tickets issued, and there are no longer parking passes for PIR.

Dear Proud Navy Donna,

I'm not sure what happened, but I am terribly sorry to hear that things are so difficult.

Comment by Proud Navy/NYPD Mom (Donna) on June 9, 2013 at 10:41am

Hi CT Mommas!  Just wanted to stop in and let you know I'm managing.  Everything is sooo much harder than I ever could have imagined in my worst nightmare.  My heart is broken and the tears come at the most inopportune time.  But I wanted to thank you for your messages of sympathy and promises of prayer.  My Navy sisters have really rallied around me and I feel so blessed to have you all in my lives.

I'm not up to planning anything, at least not anytime soon.  But if someone else plans a packing party or get together, let me know and I will try to make it.

Thank you again for your love and support.  N4M Hugs >>

Valtameri, is your son deployed?  Where is he stationed?

How nice that you will be seeing your son, Donna. I think we will see ours later this summer. We last saw him at Christmas.

Hi Denise

When was the last time you saw your son?  At times it can be a very empty feeling not to be in their lives on a daily basis.  My son isn't deployed but boy o boy is it a challenge to get him to either answer the phone or text messages I send.  It'll be wonderful to spend time in July with him.

Hi Navy moms,

Thought I'd drop by to say hi to you all and find out if you'll be seeing your son/daughter son.  My son Andrew will be coming home for a visit July 8th till the 21st.  It'll be the first time home for Andrew since last June.

Hope you and your family are all doing well.  Drop me a line when you get a free minute.

To all CT Moms:  The packing party scheduled for Saturday at Harrington Hospital has been cancelled.  There will be a smaller one in MA - either in Brockton or Plainville.  If you'd like to come send me a Friend Request or PM me & I'll send you where, phone # and when.  Time may be set for earlier in the day - 10-10:30'ish.
