Welcome Welcome DramaSoul! Glad you are here. I knew we moms and girlfriends and the such needed a group just for our greenside guys and gals. I was feeling like there was no one on this site that really understood what we go through. I also felt like I wasn't finding anyone to share these wonderful experiences. So I started this group to get us all together to be able to share our joys, sadness, worries, and everything else that goes on with this experience. Yes they are turning them into Marines. I just went through it this year with my son. He did FMTB training at CP from January to March. Now he is stationed there for the next 3 years. He has had a wonderful experience there and loves being there.

Thank you so much for inviting me to this group! Having a Corpsman going 'green side' is sooo different than anything else.  Basically they joined the Navy to be in the Marines!!  Talked with my Corpsman briefly yesterday.  As much as he was saying about how much he didn't like all the mustering, methinks he doth protest too much.  He is workin' hard and seems to be thriving on it.

It is. It is even better since his Marine commader recommended that he go for it and said he would help out if he had any questions.

A lot to be proud of.

Acutally Marcy I am a happy mom right now since he is trying to get his FMF pin right now. Gonna take a bit to get it but he is hoping to have it before he comes home some time by the end of the year.

:)  B/c that's usually the term used for Army, not Navy!

I am an FMF Corpsman mom. My son does not mind that I call him a medic.
